Ujima Friends Peace Center Programs 2024

The work of the Ujima Friends Peace Center is to reduce violence and provide a safe haven with educational, cultural and recreational opportunities for adults and young people. Its current programs involve a variety of services and activities including a community summer Freedom School, the intergenerational menstrual pad sewing project for Africa, and a food give-away pantry.

Summer Freedom School is and annual 6 week summer program of study, value formation and nature exploration for middle school students
Food Give-Away serves up to 200 households with a free week of groceries twice a month.
Sewing for Africa is an intergenerational sewing collective that makes menstrual pads and other personal items for young women in Africa.
